The small village Danakos is built in the depth of a gorge. It has a lot of running waters. It's located 25km east of Chora (town). Very close to the village is the oldest monastery of the island. The monastery of Fotodoti Christ was built during the Byzantine times and distinguishes for its fortification. The myth says that a princess built the monastery.
