Menites village is 6km from Chora and very close to Mesaria. It is a beautiful village built in the banks of mountain Petalo in a 200m height. This village has long history. According to tradition in Menites were celebrated feasts for Dionysos. Characteristic are the "Piges of Dionysos", the founts decorated with lion heads. It is said that it was coming wine out of them. These founts are in the village's plateau and are one of the region's sites.
