On the southern slopes of the White Mountains, 84 km from Chania, lies the village of Anopolis. It is built on the same site as the ancient city of the same name, the ruins of which are still preserved today. Anopolis is a beautiful village with a rich history. Notably, in the village church dedicated to Saint George, the famous Cretan revolutionary Daskalogiannis raised the flag of the revolution in 1770. On the way to Anopolis, you will also encounter the famous Aradena Gorge.
