Kandanos is a historic village in the Chania region, located in the Selino area, 58 km from the city. The village¢s history is closely linked to the Cretans¢ liberation struggles against the Turks and the Germans. Many brave villagers lost their lives in these battles. Another notable feature of Kandanos is the numerous small Byzantine churches that can be found along the quiet streets of the settlement.
