
PANAGIA VLAHERNON - PONTIKONISI
From Panagia Vlachernon leave boats that go to the legendary Pontikonisi. A small verdurous island that has taken its name from its lilliputian size. According to mythology this is the island where the storm cast Odysseus ship and made him a castaway in Feakes' island. Another version of this myth says that Pontikonisi is the ship of the Homeric hero, which Poseidon changed into a rock.
Characteristic of this island is the dense vegetation and the Byzantine church of Pantokratoras dated from the 13th century.
