About Perdika

A picturesque fishing village of Aegina that has evolved into a cosmopolitan tourist resort. It is located on the southern side of the island, 9 km from the town. For historical context, the village owes its name to the numerous partridges that used to inhabit the area. In the past, the bay of Perdika served as a hideout for pirates. Until World War II, Perdika was the southwestern stronghold of Aegina, which, along with the southeastern fort at Tourlos, protected Piraeus from any naval enemy attacks. Today, Perdika attracts significant tourist activity. Its sheltered harbor fills with boats and yachts during the summer months. The village retains its traditional character, which has contributed to the area¢s tourism development, as visitors love exploring the charming streets of the village. Very close to the village is Marathona Beach, one of the most popular beaches on the island. From Perdika, visitors can also easily reach the beaches of Klima and Sarpa.
