The traditional village of Lampinou is located just a few kilometers from Kalamaki. It is a small, charming village full of traditional character. Its cobblestone streets, quaint house courtyards, and picturesque village square evoke the atmosphere of a bygone era. The area¢s coastal gem is the beautiful eponymous beach. According to local legend, a pirate ship traveling at night was caught in a storm. The captain prayed to the Virgin Mary for help, and a sudden flash of light (lampidona) illuminated the beach, allowing the ship to safely run aground. Later, the Monastery of Panagia Lampidona was built at the site, which today lies in ruins.
